Education and professional experience

Magdalena GawrychDoctor of Psychology, psychosexual therapist, psychotherapist, clinical sexologist (PTS-certified).

She is an assistant professor at the Institute of Psychology of the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw, and a long-time academic staff member (assistant professor) at the Department of Psychiatry of the Medical University of Wrocław. She has also lectured at the University of Warsaw and the SWPS University in Wrocław.

She graduated in Psychology from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In 2011, she obtained, with distinction, a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree specialising in clinical psychology.

She has expanded her expertise through comprehensive training in sexual therapy, psychotherapy training at the Wielkopolska Society for Systemic Therapy, postgraduate medical training programmes, specialist trainer education, as well as studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Medical University of Poznań and the University of Warsaw.

She gained specialist clinical experience at leading European medical and research centres, including King’s College London, Technische Universität Dresden, Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus, Lviv University, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Klinik für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie, Ulm University, and Université de Paris.

Scope of activity

She is the author and co-author of over 20 national and international medical and psychological publications. She has participated in numerous scientific research projects in the fields of psychology and psychiatry.

She regularly presents her work at national and international conferences, including events in Lisbon, Prague, Vienna, Ulm, and Berlin. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the quarterly journal “Psychogeriatria Polska”.

In her clinical practice, she focuses on mental and sexual health, using the latest scientific knowledge, a strengths-based approach, and a systemic model of therapeutic work.

She is involved in initiatives supporting the development of community psychiatry and psychogeriatrics. She provides individual psychotherapy and couples therapy.
