Izabella Gałka-Mizak

Education and professional experience

She is a graduate of Psychology at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. She completed a two-year postgraduate training programme “Systemic Understanding of the Family; Systemic Approach in Family Therapy” conducted by the Krakow Foundation for the Development of Psychotherapy. She obtained qualifications as a trainer and facilitator of the “School for Parents and Educators” programme, recommended by the Centre for Education Development.

She completed a four-year postgraduate programme in Psychotherapy at the Department of Psychotherapy of Jagiellonian University. She is a certified psychotherapist of the Polish Psychiatric Association (certificate no. 949).

She completed the two-year School of Sexual Therapy organised by the Lew-Starowicz Therapy Centre, as well as a two-year postgraduate training programme in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents at the “Poza Schematami” Centre.

She is currently undergoing the certification process in the field of sexology.

She is a member of the Polish Psychiatric Association, the Polish Society of Sexology, as well as the Scientific Section of Psychotherapy of the Polish Psychiatric Association and the Scientific Section of Family Therapy of the Polish Psychiatric Association.

She gained her professional experience through internships at the Medical Centre for Postgraduate Education of Jagiellonian University and the Day Psychiatric Unit for Children and Adolescents at SZPZLO Warszawa-Ochota, as well as through her work as a school psychologist, psychotherapist at a Mental Health Clinic, and within her own psychological and psychotherapeutic practice.

She collaborates with foundations and associations in Lublin, where she has conducted several hundred hours of workshops and individual sessions focused on psychotherapy, developing parenting skills, and training personal and social competencies.

Scope of activity

She provides psychotherapy and sexological counselling for adolescents, adults, and couples. She offers assessment, support, and counselling for transgender people and their families.

She works under regular supervision of supervisors certified by the Polish Psychiatric Association and the Polish Society of Sexology.
