Dorota Sawicka

Education and professional experience

She is a graduate of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Faculty of Medicine in Zabrze.

She completed a 4.5-year comprehensive psychotherapy training programme organised by the Family Therapy Department of the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Jagiellonian University in Kraków, under the direction of Professor de Barbaro, as well as a six-month course in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy for children and adolescents at the CBT Centre in Warsaw.

She completed specialist internships in psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Katowice, in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Paediatric Centre in Sosnowiec and the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, as well as in sexology at the Sexology and Sexual Dysfunction Clinic in Warsaw.

For over 10 years, she worked at the Provincial Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Lubliniec, in both adult psychiatric wards and the psychiatric ward for children and adolescents.

Currently, she is the head of the Specialist Diagnostic and Therapeutic Centre Pro Autism and works at the Masovian Neuropsychiatric Centre.

Scope of activity

She specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders in adults, children, and adolescents, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, stress-related disorders, autism spectrum disorders, Asperger’s syndrome, and ADHD.

In the field of sexology, her particular areas of interest include psychosexual development disorders, including those accompanying other mental health difficulties, such as autism spectrum disorders and Asperger’s syndrome, as well as support for people who have experienced sexual violence. She also provides consultations for people undergoing gender-affirming care.

The first appointment is always a consultation between the doctor and the parent/legal guardian. The following appointment is a consultation between the doctor and the child.

It is possible to schedule two appointments on the same day: the parent attends the first appointment, followed by the child’s appointment.
