The School of Sex Therapy is designed for psychologists enrolled in psychotherapy training programs, psychotherapists, addiction therapists, and physicians who utilize therapeutic skills in their work with patients. The training focuses on therapeutic work with patients with sexual disorders.

Training description
What do you gain?
You will gain comprehensive and practical knowledge in the field of sexuality and the treatment of sexual disorders, which will enable you to work confidently with patients. The program combines psychotherapeutic interventions with the necessary medical background, allowing you to develop your skills in a holistic manner that aligns with real clinical needs. You learn through lectures, workshops, training sessions, and supervision, which guarantees not only knowledge but, above all, real therapeutic skills that you can immediately put into practice. Classes are led by an experienced team of experts, ensuring a high level of expertise and exposure to current clinical practice.
The program is designed to prepare you for professional work in the field of clinical sexology and to tangibly increase your value in the therapeutic services market.
Upon completing the training and meeting the requirements:
- you will receive a diploma confirming your competencies,
- you will be eligible to apply for the Clinical Sexologist Certificate from the Polish Society for Sexology

First-Year Course Schedule
- Determinants of sexuality. Sexual health, norms, and pathologies. Sexuality during development. Psychosexual developmental disorders. Psychosexual immaturity.
- The biopsychosocial model of sexual disorders. Sexual dysfunctions in men and women.
- Sexuality across the life span—from adolescence to old age. The impact of contraception on sexual activity. Sexuality in chronic diseases. Oncosexology.
- Disability and sexual health. Sexuality in mental illnesses and psychoactive substance use disorders. Relational factors in sexual disorders. Couple diagnosis.
- Gender identity and sexual orientation. Homosexuality, transgenderism. Sexual preferences and disorders of sexual preference.
- Sexological interview. Diagnostic and research methods and tools. Scales, questionnaires, tests.
- Sexual offenses. Forensic sexological evaluations.
- Ethics in sex therapy. Establishing and maintaining the therapeutic relationship. Supervision.
- Psychoeducation and sex education. Supervision.
- Sexual counseling and guidance. The role of the Internet. Final exam.
Second-year course schedule
- Psychosexual therapy for sexual disorders. Conceptualization and working with sexual problems across various psychotherapy approaches. Integration of methods in the treatment of sexual disorders. Supervision.
- Training methods, music therapy, and dance therapy in the sexual disorders clinic. Supervision.
- Therapy for sexual dysfunctions in women (desire, arousal, and orgasm disorders; dyspareunia; vaginismus). Supervision.
- Therapy for sexual dysfunction in men (desire, erection, orgasm, and ejaculation disorders). Supervision.
- Hypersexuality and “sex addiction.” Risky sexual behaviors and sexually transmitted diseases. Supervision.
- Couples therapy. Working with couples in a sexual dysfunction clinic. Specifics of therapy for same-sex relationships. Supervision.
- Group and systemic psychotherapy in a sexual dysfunction clinic. Supervision.
- Therapy for sexual preference disorders. Gender transition clinic. Supervision.
- Therapy for sex offenders and victims of sex crimes. Supervision.
- Organizational aspects of therapy for sexual disorders. Supervision. Defense of the thesis, i.e., a psychotherapeutic case study. Completion of the training.

Completion of the STS program allows participants to earn 560 of the 1,500 points (1,000 basic and 500 additional) required to obtain the PTS Clinical Sexologist Certificate: 100 basic points and 240 additional points for participation in educational classes, and 120 basic points and 100 additional points for participation in supervision sessions
Organizational information
Requirement: To participate in the selection process, you must submit an application (downloadable here or online application form) and a scan/copy of your psychology or medical degree, or a psychotherapy certificate (from the Polish Psychological Association, the Polish Psychiatric Association, or a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist Certificate).
Documents along with the application should be sent to centrum@lew-starowicz.pl or by mail to: Lew-Starowicz Therapy Center, ul. Nowogrodzka 62 c, apt. 42, 02-002 Warsaw. In the case of doctors, a scan/copy of the license to practice must also be attached. Classes begin in October 2026, are held on Fridays (3:00 PM–9:00 PM) and Saturdays (9:00 AM–7:00 PM) once a month, and conclude in June 2028.
Upon completion of the training, participants receive a certificate of completion and a diploma from the School of Sex Therapy
Payment: The cost of the training is 32,000 PLN gross for 20 sessions over 2 years. Monthly installments of 1,600 PLN gross.
